MCubed continues to grow stronger in its beacons, but we do not yet have two way communication with the satellites. Beacons are being received in California, Japan and Europe. Thanks for all the tracking support!
The beacons show that the satellite continues to be power positive. Four of the six panels are producing Continue Reading »
MCubed continues to strengthen in beacon transmission output. HAMs in Japan and Germany are currently decoding packets. We have had little success in decoding at our stations in Michigan due to several ground station inefficiencies. We are working to upgrades those ASAP.
MCubed battery health is good, and it is fully charged. Our current plan Continue Reading »
With gratitude for our Japanese partners, we now have a recording of MCubed transmissions! We have a mp3 file that can be played with normal music players, or but yet with Audacity. One can see the sound waves in Audacity. I have included a screen shot as well below. If you listen closely, you can Continue Reading »
Tracking and communicating with CubeSats post launch is generally quite difficult, and this ELaNa3 launch is no exception. All CubeSats have been regularly heard but reliable commanding has not been achieved. This is expected, and as the satellite separate and position information grows, contacts will improve.
MCubed is beaconing reliably but transmissions are weak. The Continue Reading »
Both RAX-2 and M-Cubed, CubeSats developed by MXL, are currently on-track to launch this Friday from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California! They are launching on a Delta II rocket with NASA’s NPP satellite as the primary payload. Be sure to check out the RAX and M-Cubed websites for more information. Current launch status can Continue Reading »
